"This data underscores the importance of educating drivers on the simple, yet effective steps they can take to prevent a possible tragedy," says Marvaso. "Unfortunately, too many drivers have adopted the 'I'm tired, but I can make it' mentality, often to their own peril or to the peril of others."
Motorists who get into accidents are likely to see their auto insurance premiums shoot up. Getting enough sleep at night can help ensure one doesn't make a mindless and potentially fatal error while behind the wheel.
